WOW Mobile Goes Silent for a day.

OOPS!

First of all you should know that I have a vested interest in WOW mobile at this time.

That being said……..

As I was driving yesterday I made a call home to my wife and was insted routed to T-Mobile customer service.

Arriving at home I called several other WOW mobile customers and all of them resulted in a T-Mobile recording that they were not accepting calls.. (This is T-Mobiles version of a disconnect message).

Red flags went up at that time as it appeared that something might have gone horribly wrong at Liberty International.

After spending most of the night and today investigating this I have substantial reason to believe that this mass outage was caused by human error at T-Mobile and NOT by Liberty International.

Here’s what we know.

  1. Starting about mid day on Tuesday Feb. 23rd thousands of WOW mobile / T-Mobile phones inexplicably stopped working.
  2. Liberty posted news of the problem the instant it was known.
  3. Liberty posted news that T-Mobile would have WOW service back up “within the hour”.. and that did not happen!
  4. Liberty posted multiple updates throughout the night and into early morning. (in other words they stayed up as late as I did on this crisis.)
  5. Just after 1:00am Liberty posted instructions to power cycle our phones and my services were back to normal.

On a call today, Randy Jeffers and an unnamed manager, (whose name did slip out as being “Ryan” I believe) from T-Mobile explained what had happened and where some of the mistakes had been made.

T-Mobile management stated that they were uncertain as to the exact cause of the problem but did volenteer information that it was not a billing situation, (as in lack of payment), nor was it a problem with the Liberty/WOW mobile accounts or contracts.

It was also stated that “Due to human error”, the process of reactivation of all the WOW accounts took longer than they, (T-Mobile), had communicated to Liberty the previous night.

I know what your thinking!  I had the same thought!

How do we know that this unnamed person was in fact in management at T-Mobile?

The strait up answer is, we don’t! But I know from past experience that any company is only as good as it’s determination and ability to deal with problems quickly and effectively.

In this situation, Liberty demonstrated openness and quick response time to what could have been a PR disaster for the company and it’s distributors. Nothing that has been communicated indicates any deception on the part of Liberty or T-Mobile at this time.

However,  given the recent troubles in the telecom/cell phone marketing industry it looked bad! Very Bad!

For obvious reasons, we are keeping a very close eye on this particular situation and, (due to my affiliations with Liberty), I am requesting an unbiased third party to look into this as well.

Motivation is just a Sugar Rush

Have you seen the Golden Gate Bridge?

If you haven’t, here’s something you need to know.

The cables that bear the entire weight of the roadway are immense. They measure over 3 feet in diameter and are among the strongest ever built by mankind.

How hard would it be to break a steel cable like that and what does this have to do with motivation?

Each of these monstrous cables is made up of thousands of smaller cables, (27,572 to be exact), that were woven together one at a time to reach the point being nearly indestructible.

Each day of our lives we weave one more tiny wire into a giant cable that holds us where we are!

Every day we follow a routine.

  • We get up at a certain time,
  • We take a shower,
  • Brush our teeth,
  • Eat breakfast and
  • Leave for work
  • Break for lunch
  • Leave work
  • Drive home
  • etc… etc…

This is a common routine and every day, we reinforce that routine and weave one more tiny wire into our giant cable.

Every now and then, we get the uncontrollable urge to change.

We want something better! We want something different! We want to succeed in life or in business so we do something to get ourselves “Motivated”.

We might attend a motivational seminar, or go to a regularly scheduled meeting where we get our batteries recharged and feel like taking on the world again.

Then comes Monday. And the giant cable we’ve been building yanks us back into the same old routine as last week, and the week before, and the week before that.

For most people, this cycle of “Getting Motivated” and then falling back into the routine is a life long addiction, (This is the biggest reason why people keep coming out of retirement!), it’s the addiction to the routine.

Motivation for most people is nothing more than the temporary rush. Much the same as the rush you get from a sugary energy drink. A high followed by a crash.

We get excited and sometimes even get started before the big cable yanks us back.

One thing you will notice about wealthy, successful people is that their “routines” are very different from that of most people. What did they do to break their cable?

They didn’t break it at all. They built a different, bigger cable!

21 Days!

That’s all it takes to become addicted…. to anything!
And, the very best way to beat an unhealthy addiction is to start a new, healthy one.

If you do anything for 21 days in a row, your addicted. Try it! Go for a walk for 21 days and on day 22 your body will need that daily walk. Eat a hand full of blueberries or an apple for 21 days and your body will crave it on day 22 and beyond.

It’s not magic, it’s just the way human beings are wired.

The answers and changes that we seek for ourselves simply can not be achieved by motivation alone.

Why? Because motivation alone is incapable of changing our habits and routines. The cable we have built can not be broken, it can only be replaced.

We have to change our habits and our routines NOT by “stopping what were doing” but by starting to do something else. We create NEW habits and routines that replace that giant cable with a new one.

Make sense?

Here’s a good place to start.

For the next 21 consecutive days, read for 30 minutes to an hour each day and start with some of these books.

  • The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Peopleby Stephen R Covey
  • As a Man Thinkethby James Allen
  • Think and Grow Richby Napoleon Hill
  • The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino
  • The Power of Positive Thinkingby Norman Vincent Peale
  • How to Win Friends and Influence Peopleby Dale Carnegie
  • The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing by Ann SiegFREE Download HERE.
  • Rich Dad, Poor Dadby Robert Kiyosaki

And the list goes on and on…..

Get one of these books and mark the day on your calendar. Read every single day for 21 days. See what happens for yourself!

Work-At-Home Scammers Busted

The wheels of justice move slowly, but they do move!

There are few that rank lower than those that feed off the misfortune of others.

Now it’s time to pay.

The Federal Trade Commission has now caught on.  Today, nearly a dozen lawsuits were filed against companies who were promising to help unemployed customers make thousands of dollars a week, from the comfort of their own homes.

Some of the companies promised they could help you get a federal job, work as a movie extra or mystery shopper.  Others promised you could make hundreds if not thousands of dollars stuffing envelopes or addressing postcards.

All I can say is, …. “IT’S ABOUT TIME!”….

You can read the entire story below.

Who are You Talking To?

When the sale goes pear-shaped...

Talking to people is one of the most misunderstood arts in the world!

We’ve all seen that blank, glazed over stare that means the other person has completely “checked out”.

Maybe it’s not the person your talking to but the personality your talking to.

I recently had the opportunity to speak with fellow businessman about a service I offer. When I arrived I discovered that he had been called away but had made arrangements for me to speak to someone else.

We were introduced and I proceeded to lay out my proposal.

In short order I was looking a man with crossed arms, glazed expression and tight lips. He’d checked out on me and I knew exactly why!

I had gone in to talk to someone that was interested in my idea. Someone that was excited, creative and emotional. The problem was, that person wasn’t there and I was talking to the companies financial guy.

I recently attended a seminar where, among other things, we discussed four distinct personality types and how recognizing which one you were speaking with made the difference between closing a sale and wasting your time. Knowing what personality you’re talking to is at least as important as knowing their name.

Rather than trying to retype it all, I’ve put these notes into PDF form for you.

DOWNLOAD IT HERE

As you can see, people come in four basic “types”. Knowing what type of person you are talking to is every bit as important as knowing what language they speak.

These Types Are:

  • The Aggressors
  • The Expressive
  • The Giver
  • The Visionary

If you don’t recognize which one your speaking to, you are wasting your time… and theirs!

Here is a simple method to keep them strait.

  1. Print out the PDF file
  2. On each of the four pages, write down the name of the person it reminds you of.
  3. The next time you meet someone you can say to yourself, “This guy reminds me of my friend xxxxx”.

This simple tip will increase your sales by 50% or more and make you look like a world class conversationalist!.

ASEA, The New Miracle… wait a second…

ASEA, the newest entry into the miracle drink business is starting to get some attention.

Looking at the site, they don’t appear to be making claims that it actually does anything specific.

There’s a lot of talk about “reactive molecules” and “free radicals” but not really much else.

After reading for a few minuets I took a look at the bottle and turned it around on the site. And there it was right on the bottom of the bottle.

IT'S SALT WATER

That’s right the ingredients are:

Distilled Water and Sodium Chloride (salt)

ASEA is nothing but salt water in a bottle!

Sorry I wasted my time….. And yours!
